  • CYNDI NGUYEN - CHAIRPERSON

    Cyndi Nguyen is a dynamic and dedicated professional with a passion for community development and social impact. As the Vietnamese-American elected to the New Orleans City Council, she has consistently demonstrated her commitment to improving the lives of those in her community. Cyndi Nguyen's journey is an inspiring testament to the power of dedication, education, and community service. Her multifaceted career continues to positively influence her community, making her a respected and admired figure in the world of community outreach and public service.

  • MAI TRAN - AT-LARGE MEMBER/OUTREACH

    Mai Tran is a dedicated leader serving as the Manager of Community Services at Song Community Development Corporation, a nonprofit organization committed to enhancing the quality of life for BIPOC residents in vulnerable communities across Southern Louisiana. Mai's roots lie deep in New Orleans East, where her passion for community development was ignited.

  • TAP BUI - TREASURER

    Tap Bui is a New Orleans native, Tap serves as the Co-Executive Director of Sông Community Development Corporation, a nonprofit organization that works to improve the quality of life of black, indigenous, people of color (BIPOC) communities in Southern Louisiana. In this role, she oversees the organization’s strategic direction and initiatives as it relates to equitable community development, disaster response and recovery, advocacy and policy, and community services and programming.

  • CAM THANH TRAN - CO-CHAIRPERSON

    Cam-Thanh Tran immigrated from Viet Nam to the United States in 1975 alongside her family of nine. Cam’s assimilation experiences into western culture fuel her zest to serve people and communities by addressing cultural and opportunity gaps. Spanning over three decades, Cam’s career in academia and her love for preserving Vietnamese culture and history intertwine in her work with New Orleans nonprofit organizations such as MQVN CDC/NOELA, VietNOLA50, Bridging Two Worlds, and Mary Queen of Vietnam Church. Cam currently works at Tulane University as Assistant Director for the Center for Studies of Displaced Populations.

  • SARAN BYNUM - PUBLIC RELATIONS

    Saran Bynum is a filmmaker and a cultural bearer in New Orleans. She was born in Vietnam during the Vietnam War to an African-American serviceman and a Vietnamese woman. As part of Operation Babylift, she was airlifted to America.

  • THUY PHAM - AT-LARGE/OUTREACH

    A native New Orleanian, Thuy Pham fell in love with non-profits when she was a teenager. Inspired by the fact that there were already very few non-profits to assist Vietnamese refugees in New Orleans East, the need to see that change grew inside of her during her formative years at Tulane University. She is a Louisiana commissioned notary and has worked at law firms such as Jones Walker, Oestreicher Law Firm, Tabary and Borne, and Lineage Law Firm. She currently manages a tag agency, her real estate portfolio, and assist in organizing food events.
